Volunteers Are Our Heroes
In a way, every member of IRP Detroit is a volunteer since IRP Detroit is a highly collaborative organization. As peer learners, we welcome and rely upon all members to share their life-long expertise, interests and experience with others. As members, we can be a powerful force in transforming each other’s lives through interactive educational and cultural experiences. And members are all encouraged to volunteer and take part in the planning, implementation and growth of IRP Detroit programs and activities.
At its core, IRP Detroit offers an array of interest groups that meet year-round and are sustained by members. Topical interest groups feature discussions, presentations and creative activities that are facilitated by teams of individual member-volunteers. Members can also arrange pop-up presentations with expert speakers and authors. Our members are empowered to keep the legacy interest groups active and dynamic and to launch and facilitate new interest groups.
Along with our ongoing interest groups, IRP Detroit looks to members with ideas and contacts to propose and create attractive events and programs, with venues ranging from home hospitality to hosting events at community-wide venues, group activities around town, and onsite charitable community service.
We always welcome new ideas for interest groups, lectures, programs and activities.
